As a large and growing number of businesses have proven, gamification has the potential to improve customer engagement, agent performance and countless other metrics. To see those results, though, you need to get gamification right, and a big part of that is making sure your gamification program is fun - but not too fun.
This may seem simple, but it's incredibly important. As we discuss further in a recent blog post, gamification strategies need to be fun or else they won't have any real impact on customer engagement. However, if the company loses sight of the reason it introduced gamification in the first place, the strategy can inadvertently encourage the wrong kind of behavior.
